
182m monthly unique users are playing Zynga’s social games, according to the company’s latest quarterly financial results. But it only has 3.5m monthly unique payers - people who actually pay to play those games.
Still, the publisher generated $321m of revenues during the first three months of 2012, although it also posted a net loss of $85m for the quarter – the latter figure takes into account $133.9m of “stock-based expense” though.
Still, 182m people a month playing Zynga’s social games is the figure to think about.
As a quick comparison, in January Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said his company had shipped 66m Xbox 360s in that console’s lifetime, while Sony had sold more than 55m PlayStation 3s by last Autumn, and Nintendo is past the 90m mark with Wiis.
